Beauty Tips – Putting on that Red Lipstick

Facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedinmail

Been thinking of how gorgeous red lips are lately. With correct choice and application, red lips makes the face look gorgeous instantly. It never goes out of style and is here to stay. Here are some beauty tips on how you should wear that red lipstick.

  1. Match your skin tone. true reds work best on a pale face, while olive skin calls for brown-reds or mahogany shades. If your complexion is pink, you’ll look better in plum shades, while girls with yellow tones are flattered by warmer reds that have a brown base, according to celebrity makeup artist Jemma Kidd in Harper’s. Also, if your teeth are yellow, a red lipstick with blue undertones will make them look whiter.
  2. Red lips should be accompanied by a subtle, natual-looking face. Go light on the eyes and the blush, otherwise you’ll risk looking like a clown. Just dust face with powder and cheeks with a soft blush.
  3. Skip the eyeliner. Just go for mascara only instead, but be watchful of your hair color so not to overwhelm the eyes. (black for brunettes, brown for blondes and redheads),
  4. . Decide on your shine level. Glossy or matte? A moister lip looks more modern. but a matte formula stays on your lips longer and won’t feather. Experiment to find the right one for you.

Beauty Tips – Cure Chapped Lips

chapped-lips1
Chapped lips – is a condition whereby the lips become dry and possibly cracked. It may be caused by the evaporation of moisture. Often the lips become dry because the layer of oil that is naturally produced by the body to coat the lips is removed or is lacking.

Lips have almost no melanin, the natural pigment in skin that helps screen out the sun’s harmful rays. Your lips’ natural tendency toward dryness and chapping is aggravated by the fact that they are more prominent than almost any other part of your body–and most of the time they are unprotected by clothing and fully exposed to the elements. While exposure to sun, wind and cold can obviously speed the rate of moisture loss, your lips aren’t even safe indoors. They can suffer from lack of moisture in centrally heated or air-conditioned rooms in which the relative humidity is low.

The Cure:

  • The simplest and natural remedy for chapped lip is consumption of adequate water and liquids so the hydration level of body is properly maintained.
