Losing Weight with Zumba Party

Ditch the Workout and Join the Party! Yes that’s what Zumba is all about, a fun party! I have been raving about Zumba since daay 1 I started to zumba away. It all started with XBox Kinect :). We downloaded the demo and I loved the sweating that it did to me so I decided to do it regularly this time make it a workout routine since I wan’t to lose weight anyway. Been doing Zumba for 2 and a half weeks (average of 4-5 times a week 50-75 minutes) and I swear I am seeing result! I’ll post photos soon :D.

Zumba is a high calorie burning workout that includes easy-to-follow dance steps with Latin and international beats. Beto Perez is the creative genius behind the Zumba Program, the fitness formula that has revolutionised the way millions of people think about exercise. Zumba according to him does not mean anything, it’s just a made up name. What I love about this is anyone can do Zumba – young, old, fit even the little unconditioned. “Zumba fitness is about moving – it’s feeling the music and enjoying your workout. We are all capable of it – nobody is excluded – and I believe we can all be changed by it, on the inside and outside” says Beto.

Fact:

  • To lose 1 pound of weight, you have to burn 3500 calories.
  • The duration of your weight loss depends on your efforts.
  • How much effort you put into your workout, how long your workouts last and how often you work out all determine the rate at which you will lose weight.
  • Decreasing calorie-intake along with the exercise program increases the rate you will lose weight
  • A 150-lb woman who does Zumba at a moderate intensity for 60 minutes, four times per week and cuts 500 calories per day out of her diet will lose her weight significantly with about 1.5 lbs per week.
  • Extend your workouts to six days per week in addition to diet and you will lose close to 2 lbs in a week.
  • If you have a sensitive condition or something you worry about health wise, talk to your doctor before doing any exercise/workout.

    1. I’ve long wanted to try Zumba — I’ve done belly dancing, pilates but not yet Zumba…maybe when I have much free time in my hands 🙂 Do post photos…

    2. @Miss April – Me too… almost 3 weeks na and I am seeing slight result. Right now I am trying to beat my time.. going for 1 hour and 15 minutes at least 5 times a week 🙂

    3. Been hearing Zumba but haven’t really tried but it looks good. Would be nice if I can join a group kasi kung solo malamang tamarin lang ako. I’ll ask hubby if he’s willing to do it with me 😉

    4. @Gaylee – oo nga, magandang bonding din to..anyway lalaki naman yung main instructor eh. hehehe..but if u’re alone, carry lang yan!

      @Thess – torrent lang sis, then look for Zumba Fitness :).. this is great kasi may isang whole workout for sculpting and toning. 5 disc kasi to..may for abs lang, toning and scuplting, basic steps, then dalawang cardio workout (studio and live with a lot of participants)
