How To Apply Concealer

by pinksoda

To a makeup savvy, she cannot go away without a concealer. I admittedly skip this before as I am normally contented with my tinted moisturizer or with my liquid foundation. But as I go further with this love for makeup journey, I realized how important concealer is in achieving that even skin tone.

According to wikipedia:

A concealer or colour corrector is a type of makeup used to mask dark circles, age spots, large pores, and other small blemishes visible on the skin. It is like foundation, but thicker and used to hide different pigmentation by blending the imperfection into the surrounding skin tone. It is normally applied after primer, but before foundation and used on the face.

With that said, it is relieving to know that we can not comouflage stress and dark circles and even blemishes through the concealer’s magic! Here’s a handy quick tips in applying concealer.

Step 1

Dot concealer on problem areas using your ring finger (it exerts the least pressure) to help avoid tugging on the delicate skin around your orbs.

Step 2
Using your fingers: Using a light, tapping motion, blend the inner corners of your eyes outwards. Then, pat it in place to even out the coverage and smoothen the edges.

Step 3
Using a BRUSH: Starting from the inner corner, gently dab and blend the concealer using the tip of the brush going outwards. Blend well-especially around the creases and near your lashline.

Note: To avoid caking, gently pat on some loose powder to help prevent product from ‘slipping.”
