The Limketkai Atrium was jam-packed with supporters of the 12 lovely candidates vying for the Ms. Kagay-an 2011 title. That probably holds the most number of crowd of the pageant so far. It was a well attended event I must say. Local socialites and officials were spotted and of course the show was graced by the presence of some personalities known in the fashion and beauty industry. Ms. Philippines International 2010 Krista Kleiner was among the judges and Mama Rene Salud was chairman among the 9 board of Judges.
The MUST choral opened the show with their version of “Ang Gaan-Gaan ng Feeling” and the bisaya ballad “Usahay”. The 12 candidates started the show with their red gowns specially made for them by the members of the Oro Fashion Designers Guild (OFDG) after Vice Mayor Ian Acenas welcomed everyone and officially opened the pageant. The lovely candidates showcased their grace and elegance as they walked and strutted on that huge stage set at the Limketkai Atrium, Cagayan de Oro City. The swimwear competition made the already warm night hotter! The candidates wore Coco Cabana for their swimwear and Gibi shoes.
At the end of the night,Cagayan de Oro crowned its newest beauty queen, 20 years old Angel Carbajal of Brgy, Cugman. She impressed the judges and the crowd with her answer on how she can use her title as Ms. Kagay-an to influence people and promote CDO. The young lass from Capitol University is into empowering the people.
Another crowd favorite is first runner up Jamie Joy Bantigue. The 20 year old student from MUST bagged not just 2 but 7 Special awards!
GMA Kapuso RnB prince JayR serenade the lovely candidates with his own rendition of “Ikaw Lamang” and entertained the audience with another upbeat songs. Nice and quick entertainment that was!
Congratulations to all the winners and to the organizers for a very successful and one of a kind show! Truly Kagay-anon!
