The Cebu Food Crawl 2016 Experience : Day 1

Going to the Cebu Food Crawl 2016 is one of the few best decisions I’ve ever made! To be honest I was a bit hesitant to join mainly because I know it’s going to be a LOT of EATING and some of you guys know how keen I am with my diet. But I guess I was meant to be there because things fell right into its places, my worries related to the tour were each answered a week before the actual food crawl so Yes, I finally filled up the form and confirmed with my blogger friends here in CDO so we can make the necessary arrangements for the tour.

The Cebu Food Crawl aimed to take its participants to the best Bisaya na Food experience around the city of Cebu. And true enough, the food crawl did not disappoint! Let me take you with me as I reminisce the amazing experience! I’ll share Day 1 here and do check out this blog for the remaining 3 days gastronomic adventure.

Shoni of Munch Trip and I actually arrived in Cebu a night before the food crawl (August 26) and we got to meet a fellow blogger from Manila who was so kind enough to let me crash into her temporary place for the night too! Thank you Melanie of Matakaw na Bata :D.

Day 1

1st Stop: MACTAN NEWTOWN LECHON PIT

August 26, that was Friday, sun is up, the weather was great, a little humid but no worries, I got the perfect OOTD (which I will be sharing a little later in this post), finally I met the other bloggers from Luzon and Visayas, and of the course the team behind the Cebu Food Crawl 2016 headed by Atty. Ethelbert Ouano.

Our first stop was at Mactan Alfresco at The Mactan Newtown, a 500-seater covered food strip where every foodie and tourist will have the opportunity to experience delectable foods from Cebu’s finest restaurants and dining joints. Definitely the highlight is the Lechon Pit where it allows the customers to see the preparation of the roasted pig before it is chopped and served.

Aside from the lechon we were also served yummy dishes courtesy of the concessionaires namely Ayer’s lechon, Ana’s lechon, Oyster Bay, Orange Karenderia, Manang Sayong, Choobi Choobi, Meximama, and Muvanz.

2nd Stop: IBIZA BEACH CLUB AT MOVENPICK HOTEL

The day just got better and better! Never in my wildest dream did I ever thought of setting foot at the Movenpick Hotels and Resort in Mactan! I was actually excited for this stopover because I have heard so much of it from friends and I knew I have to have the perfect outfit for it! I think I did dress pretty well for it considering the weather also.

Ibiza Beach Club at the Movenpick Hotel is like a paradise within the city. It’s architectural design is a delight to the eyes and the spectacular scenery is a refresher to the soul! Truly a place to relax and unwind and just forget about the crazy urban life!

Furthermore, Ibiza beach club will make the guests stay more fascinating with their nightly live performances by the Ibiza show team, featuring an hour of live singing and dancing to retro pop, disco and Latin music, as well as movie musical sequences alongside daring fire dancing and stunts.

The OOTD

I wouldn’t miss out on this day without having to pose for an OOTD considering I’ve got the perfect venue to do just that! So for day 1 on the food crawl, I wore a cutesy denim dress (with thin blue cover-up which I used later in the afternoon on our way to out next stop) paired with my ever comfy and reliable wedge.

3rd Stop: El VIENTO POOL BAR AT MARCO POLO PLAZA CEBU

Another wish off my bucket list! My first time to be at the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu. We had a dinner at El Viento Pool Bar, a perfect place to cap off the night over chill music courtesy of a live band playing as we enjoyed our food and the company of each other. This time, we loosened up a bit since everyone is already acquainted.

El Viento Pool Bar showcased their sizzling menu available on their Sizzling Nights, every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at a very affordable price. Highly recommended for the family or for those couple who wants to spend quality time together over good food in a relaxing venue.
