My Character Traits and Strength
Today’s challenge is a bit of challenging. Writing about my Personality Traits I am proud of, the top 3 personality. I have to dig in a bit before I go further as I automatically thought of “character traits” which brought a bit of a confusion so let’s go ahead and differentiate the two.
Personality refers to the combination of qualities, attitude and behaviour, that makes a person distinct from others. Character refers to a set of moral and mental qualities and beliefs, that makes a person different from others. … At the same time, character indicates the traits of a person which are hidden from sight.
Now that we know the difference between Personality and Character, let’s focus on highlighting the Character Traits shall we?
I initially wanted to ask friends of my characters they liked about me the most so it’s more fun and exciting hearing from them. But due to the lack of time to do so, I will have to do it myself. Anyway, who knows me better than myself right?
My Top 3 Character Traits
Loyalty – “ethical trait of faithfulness and devotion to loved ones, friends, and anyone with whom I have a trusted relationship”. It can also extend to employer, the organizations I belong to, my community, and my country.
Generosity & Kindness – willing to offer time, energy, efforts, emotions, words, or assets without the expectation of something in return. Considerate, helpful, and benevolent to others. Motivated by a positive disposition and the desire for warm and pleasant interactions.
Courageousness – In spite of fear of danger, discomfort, or pain, this good human quality requires the mental fortitude to carry on with a commitment, plan, or decision, knowing it is the right or best course of action.
Looking through a list of many character traits I think these 3 speak so much about me. Maybe this is also the reason why I value these traits also from other people. Loyalty being on top my list. I believe it is a choice especially when it is being linked to relationship. Whether it’s romantic, platonic, or even organizational, I make it a conscious choice to be loyal. It is however sad nowadays that loyalty has become so rare that when you find someone loyal, I think consider yourself blessed! People in this time easily get swayed and change feelings and decisions instantly with all the options laid before them in every angle they’ll look. Most people treats everyone and everything as dispensable. Well, news flash! Without loyalty life becomes meaningless. Imagine jumping from one relationship to another, or one friend to another, or one job to another? Uhhmmm..chaotic!
I would love to further elaborate my other two, actually three top characteristic traits but I guess I’ll just leave them as described since I think they are quite self-explanatory and understandable. Generous & Kind, and Courageous, yes! That me! Life’s been not fair and I have been treated wrongly by other people, I have had my share of people depriving me of the faithfulness and kindness I deserve but I chose not to be like them. Some friends would ask me why I am still kind and generous with my time and kindness to these people who have seriously put me down and even made me cry. Well, I don’t know too! Hahaha! It’s all God’s grace. Thanks to my relationship with Jesus, my heart is renewed.
